The Empress is one the most favourable cards of the Major Arcana, she represents fertility (either literally or metaphorically), abundance and creativity. This card indicates of a time of happiness.

A card all artists will love to get into a spread, or if you are preparing to start or expand your family she bares good news.

The Empress may represent a specific woman with a strong maternal quality in your life or she may be suggesting that you mother yourself. If you are going through a difficult period of your life, she just might be telling you to think of yourself and take the time to get pampered.

But should she appear upside down, the Empress could be warning you of a loss, infertility, idleness or the flittering away of resources.

    Get to Know Your Tarot

The magical and mysterious world of the Tarot has been around to guide us for hundreds of years. It is actually unknown exactly when the Tarot appeared or where it originated. There is much controversy about its birth but one thing is for such it was not invented by the poor. The first Tarot cards recorded were painted on parchment, or thin sheets of ivory, silver or even gold.

In this section I will help you get acquainted with the meaning of each Tarot card. Every Friday, I will present a new card starting with the Major Arcana. There are a total of 78 cards in the Tarot, though 22 in the MA, which is believed to be symbolic of the human experience.
