Strength VIII

10/27/2011

Picture
This card suggests the need for strength, perseverance and courage. This card encourages you to keep fighting even when the going gets tough. It urges you to dig deep within yourself to find the strength to carry on.

The message this card brings is; although the task ahead seems impossible, it will be easier than you think despite how scary or dangerous it may seem. You will need a lot of courage to push forward but you will eventually come out
victorious.

This card may also be telling you to remain focused as you approach the problem and not let the magnitude of the situation get the better of you. Take it one step at a time rather than overwhelm yourself with the end result.

Believe in yourself and your abilities.

If the card is reversed, it may be warning against your fears of the unknown or that you may be abusing your power.

The Chariot VII

Excuse my lateness, but better late than never. Here is this week's Tarot card.
Enjoy!
Picture
When the Chariot appears in a spread, it is informing you of triumph from a difficult time or challenge, but not without some hard work from your part.

In order to succeed you will need great willpower & self-control. You will also have to keep your emotions in check. This is not a good time to lose control or do things you may  regret later.

Pay attention to what is in front of you, do not allow yourself to be distracted or sidetracked. FOCUS on the important things!

If there is a decision to be made, weigh all your options before you make up your mind. Do not rush into anything. If possible, let a few days go by before taking action, there is a possibility you may have overlooked some important details or that you might change your mind once you have had a chance to relax.

The Chariot also warns against taking revenge, consequences will worsen the situation and the sense of satisfaction will be short lived.

If you are involved in a difficult relationship marred with arguments and painful emotions, or if a normally composed partnership is going through a rough patch, the Chariot is encouraging you to stick with it. But act fairly when defending yourself and don’t try to bully your way through the difficult times.

In short, the Chariot announces victory over ill health, money difficulties, or enemies of any sort. This is a card of those who achieve greatness; mental and physical powers should lead to fulfillment.

If the card is reversed (upside down); it may be indicating ill health, restlessness and a desire for change, or an unethical victory.

The Lovers VI

Ahh! The Lovers, we all get that fuzzy feeling when we see the Lovers but wait before you draw to conclusions. They don’t necessarily represent a love affair; they could represent an important relationship but necessarily a marriage. We could be  looking at a harmonious business relationship where both parties will greatly benefit. It could be a friendship that will be very fulfilling.

If it is describing a relationship of any sort, this card is indicating that everything is going well
and that the relationship is bringing happiness and joy. If you have been through a tough time, then The Lovers are telling you that the problems will blow over and that harmony will take its place.

OR... The Lovers could describe an important choice you have to make. It could be a choice between two lovers, or two jobs, or... If this is the case, often your choice will involve some sort of sacrifice. For example, if you are torn between two job opportunities; one could be paying well but work conditions are so great while the other doesn’t pay so well but offers many perks.

If it is describing an intimate relationship; one of the classic meanings of this card is the love triangle. Whether you are the victim or the offender someone is going to get hurt and choices will have to be made. If you are the victim; can you forgive and forget? Or do you need to walk away? If you are the offender; do you choose your clandestine lover or your official partner? Who do you leave behind?

The Lovers could also be describing other choices such as spiritual choices.

On the “Upside Down”side of things; this card could be warning about quarrels, infidelity, possibility of wrong choices, basically a need to stabilize emotions.

The Hierophant V

Picture
Some may know this card as the Pope; this card is a highly spiritual and mysterious one.

Only occasionally does it refer to a person, a spiritual authority; whether they are publicly recognized or not does not matter. It is a person you can turn to for advice or in whom you can confide.

But usually The Hierophant describes a situation, one in which it is preferable to behave in a conventional, prudent and non-flamboyant manner. It is telling you that you should play by the rules and not draw attention to yourself.

The Hierophant stresses the qualities of compassion, understanding, tolerance, forgiveness and moderation. Make sure you are not being too judgemental or not crucifying others for things that you yourself are guilty of.

If the card should appear Upside down in your spread, it is indicating some openness to new ideas, unconventionality. It is the card of the inventor as well as the hippie; a free spirit.

Happy Thanks Giving Weekend,

    Get to Know Your Tarot

The magical and mysterious world of the Tarot has been around to guide us for hundreds of years. It is actually unknown exactly when the Tarot appeared or where it originated. There is much controversy about its birth but one thing is for such it was not invented by the poor. The first Tarot cards recorded were painted on parchment, or thin sheets of ivory, silver or even gold.

In this section I will help you get acquainted with the meaning of each Tarot card. Every Friday, I will present a new card starting with the Major Arcana. There are a total of 78 cards in the Tarot, though 22 in the MA, which is believed to be symbolic of the human experience.
